Volkswagen states that the production version of the ID.Buzz sports a design that has been 'rigorously transferred' from the 2017 concept car of the same name, while drawing from design elements of the legendary T1, the original Volkswagen Bus.

Driving the rear axle, this electric motor will deliver a peak torque of 310Nm. No official range figures or maximum charging speeds for the Volkswagen ID. Buzz are yet available.

Built on the firm's Modular Electric Drive Kit, both models nonetheless promise high levels of interior space. The five-seater ID.Buzz will offer a total of 1,121 litres of luggage space even with all seats occupied, while the ID. Cargo will offer 3,900 litres of space aft of a partition behind the front seats.

Production of the ID. Buzz is slated to start in the first half of 2022, with the European launch following in the third quarter of the year.
