  • New Mercedes-Benz Concept Store opens in Great World

The newly opened Mercedes-Benz Concept Store aims to drive conversations around sustainability, as the brand transitions into a greener future.

A brand new Mercedes-Benz Concept Store, the first of its kind in the world, has officially been opened in Great World. Jointly developed by Mercedes-Benz Singapore and authorised dealer, Cycle and Carriage, and in partnership with HYPEMAKER, the global creative studio of HYPEBEAST, the new store aims to drive conversation around sustainability, in both the automotive industry and beyond. The store will also serve as a retail point for Mercedes-EQ electric vehicles.

The choice of Great World was a specific one. The mall is a certified sustainable building, and the conceptualisation and execution of the concept store also had sustainability at its core. In fact, the store is in the midst of attaining its own Green Mark certification.

The Showcase allows visitors to interact with Mercedes-EQ fully electric models
Within the actual store itself, the space is designed around three zones - The Showcase, Artist @ Work, as well as The Takeover.

The Showcase is where visitors can interact with Mercedes-EQ models. Presently on display is the EQS luxury sedan, which is slated to be officially launched in the near future. An immersive display also highlights how the brand envisions the future of mobility and society, in line with Mercedes-Benz's Ambition 2039. As part of Ambition 2039, the brand will have battery electric offerings in each segment in its lineup this year, and will produce electric-only vehicle architectures from 2025 onwards. By 2030, the group seeks to go fully electric where market conditions allow. This is all so that the entire supply chain will be carbon neutral by 2039.

Mosscape has designed and built a plant wall to represent Singapore's natural green spaces
Artist @ Work is a space where partners and collaborators can showcase their craft, while The Takeover is a space for thematic and sustainable lifestyle concepts to be featured within the store.

Companies represented at the opening of the store include Metamo Industries, who develop dynamic audio-visual experiences, Foreward Coffee Roasters, a coffee company that is committed to positive environmental and social impact througout the supply chain, as well as Mosscape, who designed and built a plant wall that uses different coloured plants to represent the various state of our natural forests in a Singapore diorama.

Moving forward, you can expect new collaborators and brands from various fields and disciplines to also become part of the space. Unlike a traditional retail storefront, you can expect the space to continually change over time. So, it's very possible that each visit that you make to the concept store will in fact be a different experience.

The store will continue to change over time, and you can expect a revolving lineup of different collaborators and brands, all with sustainability at the forefront
"The environment is at the core of our Mercedes-Benz brand. In addition to the progress we've made in reducing our impact on the environment all across the supply chain as laid out in our Ambition 2039, we feel that now is the right time for us to play a leadership role in convening and collaborating with like-minded individuals and entities in taking environment-led initiatives forward in Singapore. The concept store is a place designed for dialogue on how we can all contribute to a greener tomorrow as outlined in the Singapore Green Plan 2030," said Claudius Steinhoff, President & CEO of Daimler South East Asia/Mercedes-Benz Singapore.

The Mercedes-Benz Concept Store is now open to the public, and can be found at #01-131/132, Great World, 1 Kim Seng Promenade, Singapore (237994).
