Genesis has premiered the Genesis X Speedium Coupe design concept at Genesis House New York, a cultural space in Manhattan's Meatpacking District.
The concept car is said to incorporates Genesis' DNA, while looking ahead to the next wave of EVs and highlighting Genesis' future as a luxury electric vehicle brand. It gets the 'Speedium' in its name from a Korean racetrack in the city of Inje, of which its passion for motorsport is said to have been the inspiration Genesis' engineers.
On the front of the vehicle, the Genesis signature Two Lines head light design has been evolved into a full-width element. It now stretches across the front of the car in a shape resembling the Genesis Crest Grille.
This design feature of the concept is thus said to be an evolution of the brand's design identity in an era of electrification, carrying the firm's iconic front design while integrating the daytime running lamps with the low beam and high beam together.
From the flank, the cars also gets the Genesis signature Parabolic Line that extends from the front to the rear. Strong wheel arches here also give the car a muscular presence.
And at the rear, the Genesis X Speedium Coupe design concept gets sleek, horizontal V-shaped taillights, described as offering a contrast to the circular shape of the car.
No drivetrain details or information on if the concept will see a production variant have been offered as yet. The firm states that it is on pace to reach its target of becoming an all-electric car brand with a six-model lineup by 2030.
