Volkswagen has announced that it will launch a new all-electric pick-up and rugged SUV in the U.S.A.
These new vehicles, the firm states, will be designed, engineered, and manufactured in the U.S.A for American customers. To this end, a separate, independent company will be established which will bring the iconic U.S.A-brand Scout into the electric vehicle space.
Volkswagen states the first prototypes of the new vehicles are to be unveiled next year, with production is scheduled to start in 2026. The electrified Scout brand will be built upon a new technical platform concept which brings new pickup and Recreation Utility Vehicle credibility beyond the existing Volkswagen Group portfolio.
