Lexus has refreshed the UX luxury crossover in the U.S.A.
Enhancements to the Lexus UX include the use of a larger infotainment touchscreen and the addition of Lexus Safety System+ 2.5 as standard. The car will go on sale in the U.S.A only as a hybrid, in line with the brand's work towards the realisation of a carbon-neutral society.
F Sport models of the Lexus UX will get a black roof, alongside dark roof rails and painted wheel arch mouldings Underneath, Lexus states that it has improved the structural rigidity of the UX by adding 20 spot welding points on the body. The electronic power steering and shock absorbers have also been recalibrated for this new, stiffer body. Improvements in ride quality can also be expected from the new Lexus UX, thanks to the addition of newly developed Bridgestone 18-inch run-flat tyres.
The Lexus UX has also had its F Sport design and handling packages extended. On the exterior, both models have F Sport wheels and grille, dark roof rails, a black roof, moonroof, along with painted wheel arch mouldings among other features.
Opt for the F Sport Handling package and the UX will also come with performance dampers alongside an Active Variable Suspension, the latter designed to further sharpen handling and improve overall ride comfort and quietness.
The layout of the switches on the centre console have been optimised, and customers in the U.S.A can now opt for a 12.3-inch infotainment screen Inside the Lexus UX, a standard 8.0-inch or optional 12.3-inch touch infotainment display now sits mounted closer to the driver.
Lexus states the new display features higher resolution and smartphone-like anti-glare technology, while users can interact with the system through intuitive touch and voice activation controls. The switch layout of the car's instrument panel and console area have also been optimised.
The 2023 Lexus UX also comes standard with the Lexus Safety System+ 2.5 preventive safety technology. Lexus states the enhancements to the suite of safety systems include upgrades to the single-lens camera and millimetre-wave radar, to expand the response range of the Pre-Collision System.
The lane-recognition functions of Lane Tracing Assist, which help to keep the vehicle in the centre of the lane has also been improved through the application of AI technology.
The 2023 Lexus UX will reach showrooms in the U.S.A come the third-quarter of 2022.
