Volkswagen is launching a special edition '20 Years' Golf R to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Golf R.
Limited to a production period of just one year, the Golf R ’20 Years’ come with a 328bhp 2.0-litre engine, alongside a more aggressive gearshift pattern when set into its sportier shift modes. Engine response is also said to have been raised, a turbocharger preloading system ensures faster power output when you get back onto the throttle.
19-inch Estoril alloy wheels, alongside custom badging and a special puddle light distinguish the '20 Years' Golf R The Golf R '20 Years' will also come standard with the R Performance package already familiar from the regular Golf R, which comes with the R-Performance Torque Vectoring system in conjunction with the Vehicle Dynamics Manager and two additional driving modes, 'Special' and 'Drift'.
At the rear, the roof spoiler emphasises the sporty look of the vehicle, which is fitted as standard with 19-inch Estoril alloy wheels.
In the cabin, the limited edition car gets its dash panel and door decorative trim elements in Genuine Carbon. The special-edition model sports blue R logos, most prominently on the multifunction sport steering wheel. The blue R logo can also be found on the vehicle key cap to underline the fact that the key belongs to a special vehicle.
Like all Golf models, the Golf R '20 Years' will be produced in the Wolfsburg factory - the home of the Golf. The car will reach dealerships in many European markets and North America from the middle of 2022.
