For the longest time since Skoda's re-entry into Singapore's market, the RS range of performance cars offered here was limited to a single liftback model - the Octavia RS245.

But that is all about to change. Starting from 23 June, the Skoda RS lineup available in Singapore will be expanded with the addition of the Octavia Combi RS and the Kodiaq RS. To introduce these exciting new RS cars to the media, Skoda Singapore arranged a scenic drive to Kuantan, Malaysia.

When the fourth generation Octavia was introduced in Singapore, the Combi stationwagon variant was released alongside. Eight months later, the range-topping Octavia RS was officially launched here, offering excellent performance along with ample practicality and functionality. But it did have many wondering if the Octavia Combi RS will too, make an appearance here.

Now, the Octavia Combi RS has arrived, and as expected, it offers even more practicality and functionality while providing the same levels of performance that one expects. Like in the liftback guise, the Combi RS is equipped with the updated 2.0-litre TSI engine that produces 241bhp and 370Nm of torque. It also features an electronically controlled front differential lock to put its power effectively to the ground in sporty driving conditions.

On the outside, plenty of RS-specific details set the Octavia Combi RS apart from its non-RS counterparts. This includes a sporty blacked-out front grille, flanked by a pair of full LED Matrix head lights along with an RS-specific front bumper to complete its athletic face.

Similarly, the rear sports a pair of full LED taillights with dynamic indicators and blacked-out badges. Hop inside and the sporty theme continues with plenty of carbon-fibre look panels, red stitching and Alcantara fabric.

The biggest perk of the Combi RS' stationwagon body style is the 640 litres of minimum boot space that it offers. This brings practicality up a notch without sacrificing on performance. Additionally, the Octavia Combi RS also features a panoramic sunroof and interior ambient lighting.

Meanwhile, with the Kodiaq RS, Skoda has blessed one of its most popular SUVs with the same powerful engine that you find in the Octavia RS. What's different is the Kodiaq RS has power sent to all four wheels ensuring traction in adverse road conditions.

In line with the rest of the Skoda's RS range of cars, the Kodiaq RS received a similar transformation to its exterior - blacked out grille and details along with an aggressive RS front bumper, complete with full LED Matrix head lights as standard.

These head lights feature an innovative technology which uses the front camera to automatically control the various LED segments within, allowing drivers to have the high beam on at all times without dazzling other road users.

Apart from the various black trim pieces, on the four corners of the Kodiaq RS is a set of Skoda's new 20-inch Sagitarius alloy rims, featuring aerodynamic covers that gives it a truly unique identity.

As expected of a Skoda, practicality is key - the Kodiaq offers a class-leading boot space of 270 litres with all seven seats up, and this can be expanded up to a maximum of 835 litres with the third row folded.

At the same time the entire Kodiaq lineup has been refreshed, boasting an updated exterior and interior. Inside, the LED ambient lighting has been improved with more colour options, along with perforated-leather seats that comes with multiway electric seat adjustment and ventilation function.

The Skoda Octavia Combi RS and Kodiaq RS will be available from 23 June onwards, along with the refreshed Kodiaq range.
