MINI U.S.A has teamed up with the creators of the virtual reality online video game Horizon Worlds to bring a virtual MINI experience to life.
Called the 'MINIverse', the virtual experience, said to be the first between an automotive brand and Meta's Creative Shop, will allow fans of the MINI brand to customise and race a MINI in a whole new way.
Players will be able to customerise their cars and try on different racing suits in the MINIverse virtual experience Players will get to customise their own MINI for the track, with the ability to change its colour, add bonnet strips, and select a contrast roof. From there, they will also be able to try on different racing suits, just like the ones worn by the MINI John Cooper Works Race Team in real life, before competing in races against other players.
Participants will also be able to unlock other MINI vehicles, including a special electric model as they win more races in their quest to top the leaderboard and challenge their friends.
Up to four drivers at a time can feel the rush of driving a MINI as they zip around an exhilarating, gravity defying track, and to add to the challenge and fun, spectators will also get to either help or create chaos – by pressing buttons to flick cars off a ramp, or to block them with 'whack-a-mole' style pins, or even to help friends with timely speed boosts.
The MINIverse experience is said to be currently available in Meta Horizon Worlds to all Meta Quest 2 headset users in the U.S.A, Canada and the U.K.
