The updated Audi A8 L sports a sharper look and new technology features, and comes to Singapore alongside the new S8 sporty limousine.

Audi has launched the facelifted A8 L, alongside the new S8 performance-oriented limousine here in Singapore.

Changes to the exterior for this new Audi A8 include a redesigned Singleframe grille at the front, which has grown in width and now sports chrome elements within its grid. Flaking this grille at either end are also new intakes, now with a more upright design.

The facelifted Audi A8 gets a redesigned grille, head lights, and front intakes
And the head lights of this car have also been redesigned, now sporting a new distinctive contour on their lower edges, quite like those that we have seen the Audi A3 family.

The rear of the car meanwhile, continues to offer a customisable taillight signature, thanks to the use of digital OLEDs. These are paired together via a light strip. Below these meanwhile, rests a new rear diffuser complete with horizontal chrome elements for added emphasis on the width of the vehicle.

But the changes to this A8 are more than visual. Those redesigned head lights, for example, can now be had as Digital Matrix LED items (these are standard on the S8), each utilising approximately 1.3 million micromirrors to break down the light into tiny pixels.

These little mirrors allow the head lights to lay down a particularly bright carpet of light onto the driver's own lane, which will aid the driver intuitively stay in their lane at road construction sites, for example.

Opt for the 4.0-litre A8 here in Singapore and your car will also come with these two 10.1-inch screens in the back as standard
And the digital OLED rear lights at the rear now also have a proximity indication feature, allowing them to activate automatically if other road users approach the stationary A8 or S8 from behind to within two metres.

And there's plenty of tech on display for those that don't drive as well.

Take for example, the fact that this A8 will come as standard with two 10.1-inch screens in the rear should you opt for the 4.0-litre variant (these will be available as an option on the S8).

These screens will allow those seated at the rear to receive numerous audio and video streams via casting, including from well-known streaming platforms or TV media libraries, all from the backs of the front seats.

And if visual entertainment is not enough for you, there's also a 730W, 17-speaker Bang and Olufsen Premium sound system to revel in, all while you're relaxing in a cabin that sports front and rear seat ventilation, 22-way adjustable seats, and four-zone deluxe automatic air conditioning.

You'll be able to identify the Audi S8 from the rear via those quad tailpipes
The Audi A8 is currently available in Singapore with either a 3.0-litre engine or a 4.0-litre V8. The former will deliver a total of 335bhp and 500Nm of torque, which Audi states will see it completing the century sprint in 5.7 seconds. This model will go head on here against the 335bhp output of this soon-to-be-replaced BMW 740Li.

The latter V8 meanwhile, delivers a total of 453bhp alongside a total of 660Nm of torque, bringing the century sprint time of the A8 to just 4.5 seconds. Both these engines are offered here in Singapore with the long wheelbase Audi A8 body.

Those that want absolute comfort will do well to opt for the predictive active suspension, offered as an addition option for both these engine options.

But if you're looking for more power still, there's also the option to get the S8. This sporty variant comes equipped with a 563bhp V8 that is good for a peak 800Nm of torque. This engine will come paired with sound flaps in the exhaust system to better bring out its vocals, and offer you favourable output figures when matched up against the Mercedes-Benz S580L.

The aforementioned predictive active suspension, alongside a sport differential at the rear axle, and dynamic all-wheel steering will all come standard on the Audi S8.
