Hyundai reveals new details of the Ioniq 6

Hyundai has now revealed new drivetrain and interior details of the Ioniq 6, just two weeks after the exterior design of the all-electric four-door was first revealed.

The car is set to be built atop the Hyundai Motor Group's Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) and measure in at a total length of 4,855mm. Total width of the Ioniq 6 meanwhile, will stand at 1,880mm. The Ioniq 6 will also get a 2,950mm wheelbase, supported by a choice of 20 or 18-inch wheels.

This E-GMP platform will also enable the Ioniq 6 to carry a battery with a maximum capacity of 77.4kWh for the long-range variant, allowing a WLTP range of up to 610km. This long-range variant will be available with either all-wheel drive or rear-wheel drive, with the top-of-the-line all-wheel drive variant offering a total of 321bhp and 605Nm of torque.

A standard-range variant meanwhile, will carry a battery with 53kWh of capacity. This variant, with rear-wheel drive and when equipped with 18-inch tyres, will deliver a WLTP consumption rate of 7.1km/kWh.

In the cabin of the Ioniq 6, customers seated in the first row will be able to rest on Relaxation Comfort Seats specially designed for the firm's all-electric models. Approximately 30% thinner than those in other conventional models, these will free up more knee room for rear passengers.

A 12-inch infotainment touchscreen pairs with a 12-inch digital cluster in the cabin of the Ioniq 6

Those seated at the front will also get to utilise the 12-inch touchscreen display and 12-inch digital cluster of the Ioniq 6. These will come with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, and will allow two devices to be paired at the same time, so that one can even be used to make phone calls while the other utilised for music streaming.

These two screens will also deliver information that includes a real-time travel radius mapping based on the vehicle's current state of charge. The system's connected car services can also help search and plan the best route to include a charging station along the way.

All seated within the Ioniq 6 will also be able to enjoy their favourite music thanks to a premium Bose sound system. This system will comprise of eight speakers and a subwoofer, all said to be strategically placed throughout the vehicle for a high-quality listening experience.

Production of the Ioniq 6 is planned to begin from the third quarter of 2022.
