  • A more affordable i4 eDrive35 has joined the i4 range

The new base model of the i4 range will get a single electric motor producing 277bhp and 400Nm of torque, and will deliver a 420km range.

BMW has made entry into the i4 range more accessible with the introduction of a new entry-level BMW i4 eDrive35. The car joins the current BMW i4 eDrive40 and BMW i4 M50, making purely electric BMW performance more attainable than ever before.

The i4 eDrive35 is powered by the same Gen5 eDrive powertrain technology found in the BMW iX and other i4 models. The single electric synchronous motor is fed by a 70.2kWh battery. The motor sends 277bhp to the rear, sending the i4 eDrive35 from zero to 100km/h in an enthusiastic 6.0 seconds.

BMW's latest Operating System 8 will come included in the new entry-level BMW i4
The car will come with standard 18-inch aero wheels, delivering a U.S.A EPA range of 420km. Utilising DC fast charging, the batteries can be charged at a rate of up to 180kW. BMW states that early testing of this charging rate has seen battery capacity go from 10% to 80% in just 32 minutes.

The stand-out BMW Curved Display makes its return in the interior, powered by BMW Operating System 8. It unites a 12.3-inch information display with a 14.9-inch control display behind a single, seamless glass surface facing the driver. The car will also benefit from the full range of available ConnectedDrive digital services and Tesla style over-the-air updates.

Production of the 2023 BMW i4 eDrive35 will begin in the fourth quarter of 2022 at BMW Group Plant Munich.
