Koenigsegg has announced that its latest CC850 hyper car, a throwback to the original Koenigsegg CC design, has sold out in record time after its public reveal in Monterey, California.
The Swedish hyper car maker also admitted that the original planned production number of 50 units was too limited and decided to extend production to 70 units in total thereafter.
In the current automotive design world which is awash with languishing lines and gaudy grilles, the CC850 is an absolute triumph in aesthetics Christian von Koenigsegg, founder of Koenigsegg, remarked that the response to the CC850 was 'overwhelming' and that it was a testament to how the car 'struck a chord with the connoisseurs and the fans by blending our roots with novel thinking and a timeless design'.
Looking at pictures of the CC850, we can certainly say the same about the CC850, which is probably the most minimalistic yet beautifully designed hyper car in the past few years. The term 'timeless design' might even be an understatement in itself.
