BWM Motorrad has updated its most extreme bike, the BMW M 1000 RR. The M RR for short, is powered by a water-cooled inline four-cylinder engine which is designed for racing. Its peak output is 209bhp at 14,500rpm.
The chassis of the updated M RR relies on an aluminium bridge frame as its centrepiece, supplemented by an upside-down fork and central suspension strut with Full Floater Pro kinematics.
The M 1000 RR will be offered in Lighwhite non-metallic and Blackstorm metallic paints The updated M 1000 RR is offered in two versions, a variant in the basic paint finish Lighwhite non-metallic and another in basic paint finish Blackstorm metallic.
A newly designed fairing made of exposed, visible carbon fibre with a higher windscreen increases the top speed significantly in conjunction with optimised airflow around the rider. For the first time, this fairing also comes with a particularly light yet very rigid front fairing support made of carbon fibre.
The M Winglets are also completely revised. They now generate significantly more aerodynamic downforce, both in an upright riding position and when banking. This provides even more confidence with regards to the front wheel to achieve even greater lean angles or higher cornering speeds at the same lean angle, as well as profiting from a reduced wheelie tendency.
The BMW M Winglets have been completely revised and now generate more aerodynamic downforce M Aero Wheel covers also feature on the M RR, made of visible carbon fibre which lower air resistance even further, especially at speeds above 250 km/h. The M Aero Wheel Covers are reserved for the M RR M Competition.
The M RR also comes with a short number plate holder. An ergonomically designed M Endurance seat is also new to the model.
With a modified wiring harness with LWS connector, the shorter number plate holder with light units can now be dismantled even faster and more easily.
