The LTA has announced the COE supply for the quarter stretching from November 2022 to January 2023.

The total average monthly quota across all COE categories for the upcoming quarter will stand at 3,040. This is down from the current average monthly quota of 3,526.

The COE supply for Cat A cars (up to 1,600cc and 130bhp) in the coming quarter will hit a monthly average of 915, down from the average of this quarter of 1,086.

The average monthly COE supply for Cat B (above 1,600cc or 130bhp) meanwhile, will also see a drop, averaging 817, down from the current average of 939.

These numbers are in line with the predictions we made earlier in October 2022 here.

The COE supply for Cat E, meanwhile, will drop to a monthly average of 291 from the 327 of the current quarter. COEs in this category can be used for any vehicle type except motorcycles but end up almost exclusively for bigger cars.


The COE supply for commercial vehicles will also see a drop in the monthly average in the upcoming quarter. This figure will fall to 137, from the current monthly average of 166. The 0.25% per annum growth for the population of Cat C vehicles based on the Category C vehicle population as at 31 December 2021 has been retained.

The motorcycle COE supply will contract from 1,088 to 880.

The LTA states that the next COE quota announcement for the bidding period of February 2023 to April 2023 will be made in January 2023.
