BMW has launched the new 8 Series and X7 at an exclusive customer event. The new 8 Series has been launched in Coupe and Gran Coupe body styles, both of which are offered with a 3.0-litre six-cylinder petrol engine with rear-wheel drive.
The signature grille's cooling air intake features redesigned kidney bars with a distinctive U-profile. The M Sport package comes equipped as standard, with aerodynamically optimised body features finished in body colour in the front and rear apron as well as on the side skirts.
The new 8 series has new redesigned kidney bars with a U-profile The BMW Live Cockpit Professional with Operating System 7.0 provides a fully digital display network, consisting of a 12.3-inch instrument cluster behind the steering wheel and a Control Display whose size has been increased from 10.25 to 12.3-inches.
The BMW X7 has also received its share of updates. For starters, the newly structured front end gets new twin head lights. At the rear, the slim light units come with three-dimensional sculpting.
Split head lights make their debut on the new BMW X7, with horizontal LED light elements set higher up in the front end housing along with the position light, daytime driving lights, and turn signal indicators.
A newly designed instrument panel features in the updated X7 The new adaptive matrix LED head lights with non-dazzling high beam and adaptive light distribution also provide the functionality of front fog lights with their automatic bad weather light.
There is also a newly designed instrument panel, with its slim air vents and an ambient light bar included as standard in its lower section. The BMW Curved Display with Operating System 8 brings a modern style, shaped by digitalisation to the cockpit.
For the X7 xDrive40i, output of the new engine is 47bhp up on the predecessor unit at 375bhp, while peak torque rises by 90Nm to 540Nm due to the new 48V mild hybrid system. This form of electrification consists of a crankshaft mounted starter generator integrated into the transmission and contributes an extra 11bhp of output and an extra 200Nm of torque.
Order books for the three new models are open. You can also test drive the new cars now, except for the 7 series that will only be available for test drive from 6 November 2022 onwards.
