Residents of Tampines town are about the receive a new bus interchange.
The LTA has announced that the new Tampines North Bus Interchange located along Tampines Street 62 will open on 27 November 2022. The LTA states that Tampines North Bus Interchange will be managed by SBS Transit.
The new bus interchange will serve residents along Tampines Street 62 and Tampines North Drive 2 The LTA states that the new interchange will offer barrier-free access at all the entrances and dedicated priority queue zones for the handicapped with seats at each boarding berth. Toilets have also been designed to be wheelchair-accessible.
With the opening of the new interchange, bus services 18 and 129 will get their routes extended to operate from the new interchange and will no longer call at Tampines Concourse Interchange.
Service 18 will be amended to serve Tampines Avenue 9, Tampines North Drive 1, and Tampines Avenue 6, while Service 129 will serve Tampines Concourse, Tampines Avenue 9, Tampines Avenue 12 and Tampines North Drive 2. In addition, Service 18 within Bedok will be amended to ply Bedok North Avenue 4.
Bus service 298 will also be extended to operate from Tampines North Bus Interchange at a later date.
