  • Zagato releases the stunning Alfa Giulia SWB Zagato

The one-off Alfa Giulia SWB Zagato will sport a carbon fibre body with a shortened wheelbase, and 532bhp mated to a six-speed manual gearbox.

As part of the centenary collaborations between Alfa Romeo and Zagato, the Milanese Atelier has chosen to commemorate the event with the creation of a new model, the gorgeous Alfa Giulia SWB Zagato.

The idea was to celebrate the current Alfa Romeo production of Giulia and Stelvio, together with the legendary six-cylinder engine in its latest GTAm evolution with a two-door Coupe Zagato body in carbon fibre and a shortened wheelbase.

The Alfa Giulia SWB Zagato will be equipped with a six-speed manual gearbox
The project started from a Giulia Quadrifoglio Manual, which was subsequently updated by Zagato to GTam specification.

Unlike the S.Z. of 1990, based on the Alfa Romeo 75 Evoluzione, which did not have a shortened wheelbase, this new prototype was named 'SWB' because it was developed in-house by Zagato from the Giorgio modular floorplan of the Giulia and Stelvio, optimising its overhangs and wheelbase.

Zagato says that the conception, development and production of the car was carried out entirely and independently without external support.

Zagato states that the Alfa Giulia SWB Zagato was inspired by the design of the Alfa Romeo S.Z.
The Milanese Atelier also stated that the Alfa Romeo badge on the car is for descriptive and promotional purposes, and its choice to draw inspiration from the Alfa Romeo S.Z.

The car, after the photo shoot on the 'La Pista' circuit in Arese, will be handed over to the customer, and seal a collaboration that over the course of more than 100 years, has given rise to more than 150 models of high collector value.
