Skoda has announced that the Octavia has once again clinched the top five star safety rating awarded by the crash test safety organisation Euro NCAP.
The firm states that its bestseller achieved a total of 81% of the maximum points awarded in the tests. A score of 86% of the maximum possible points was awarded to the Octavia for its adult occupant protection and 84% for its child occupant protection.
The high scores, Skoda states, confirm the Octavia's reputation as one of the safest vehicles in its class, with the model having scored the highest possible rating of five stars following its market launch in 2019.
The Skoda Octavia has been upgraded in international markets since mid-2022 with the latest generation of driver assistance systems, which automatically initiates braking manoeuvres when there is a risk of collision at junctions or with a cyclist riding across the lane. The Skoda Octavia Estate also has seen the addition of a central airbag between the driver and front passenger and a knee airbag for the driver as standard.
