Stellantis has announced that it has finalised the acquisition of aiMotive, a leading developer of advanced artificial intelligence and autonomous driving software.
aiMotive claims that it is one of the world's largest independent automotive technology firms working on automated driving solutions. The firm also states that it is capable of delivering integrated software, tools and hardware which will enable its customers to rapidly develop and deploy automated driving features.
Stellatis states that aiMotive will operate as its subsidiary, maintaining its operational independence. aiMotive's founder Laszlo Kishonti will also remain as CEO. Stellantis will establish a Board of Directors to oversee aiMotive while preserving its autonomy and startup mindset of rapid innovation.
