The Porsche Classic Communication Management infotainment system can now be retrofitted into more of its former models.

Porsche has announced that its Porsche Classic Communication Management (PCCM) and Porsche Classic Communication Management Plus (PCCM Plus) infotainment systems are now available for more of its former models.

The infotainment systems are now available for the sixth-generation 911 generation 997, for model years 2005 to 2008, the early Boxster and Cayman generation 987, for model years 2005 to 2008, and the first generation Cayenne, for model years 2003 to 2008.

The Porsche PCCM will enable the use of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for media playback and  navigation in older Porsche models
Upgrading to the PCCM or PCCM Plus will net the driver the latest on-board navigation, with Points of Interest specific to Porsche displayed in 2D or 3D. Porsche states that map updates will be offered for this at regular intervals in the future. Furthermore, those that upgrade the systems in the 911, the Boxster and the Cayman, will also be able to store their personal settings for the car.

The PCCM and PCCM Plus are said to replicate the design and feel of the new systems are based on components already installed in the car allowing them to perfectly replace the second-generation Porsche Communication Management system that was offered on these models.

A Porsche logo will immediately identify the new system as a device developed by Porsche, while the vehicle's components such as the amplifier, speakers or antenna can be used as before. The navigation displays in the instrument cluster will also continue to be supported.

The PCCM and PCCM Plus will be available in Singapore from February 2023.
