The BMW Group has announced that it has lowered its fleet-wide emissions across the European Union by more than 9% from 2021 to 2022, based on its preliminary internal calculations.

This estimation, the firm states, means it has outperformed the fleet target limit set by the European Union of 127g/km.

BWM attributes its success to its electrification strategy, which has seem more than 215,000 all-electric vehicles sold in 2022, an increase of 108% compared to 2021.

The firm aims to have its all-electric vehicles comprise 15% of its global sales in 2023, as well as to raise this figure to 50% come 2030. It is also targeting a 40% reduction in CO2 emissions per vehicle throughout its entire lifecycle from 2019 levels by 2030.
