And now, Porsche has announced that it too is all set to join in the melee, with the launch of its all new Cayenne now imminent.
The Porsche Cayenne looks set to get a completely redesigned rear light signature The firm states that prototypes of this fourth generation Cayenne have already undergone tests across the continents of Asia, Africa, Europe, and North America, all designed to put the quality and durability of the car to the test in different climate zones.
A total of more than four million test kilometres are said to have been covered during these tests, which also saw the cars covering well over 200,000km in urban traffic, on country roads and on motorways, all within a few months.
Porsche states that the new Cayenne will feature a new, semi-active chassis, while in the cabin, a new and extensively digitalised display will be utilised, with enhanced connectivity functions. The SUV is also set to feature innovative lighting technology in its HD-Matrix LED head lights.
