Subaru of America, Inc. has debuted the new 2024 Crosstrek (known here in Singapore as the Subaru XV) at the Chicago Auto Show.
The car has been designed to communicate a ready-for-adventure spirit. This comes courtesy of a frameless hexagonal grille up front, paired with compact head lights and a broad-shouldered stance.
The 11.6-inch Multimedia Plus system, equipped with wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto, is now available in the Crosstrek Black wheel arch cladding and rocker panels also aid to cement this adventure-ready spirit, while air outlets at the trailing edge of the front wheel and at each side of the rear bumper will reduce lift on the front tyres and air trapped under the bumper, aiding driving stability at speed.
The Subaru Crosstrek will retail in the U.S.A with two engines. The first is a 2.0-litre boxer four-cylinder engine offering 150bhp and 197Nm of torque. A 2.5-litre boxer engine will also be available, offering a total of 180bhp and 241Nm of torque.
A continuously variable transmission will send this power onto the road, alongside a revised Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system, which the firm states now offers a faster response time, more agile handling, and better control both on and off-road.
The front seats have been redesigned to offer greater support and minimise drive fatigue when behind the wheel Further aiding handling on the 2024 subaru Crosstrek is a version of the WRX's dual-pinion electronic power steering rack, designed to offer a direct and natural steering feel and give greater responsiveness.
Subaru states that the Crosstrek's 221mm ground clearance is greater than most crossovers, but the car will still offer a comfortably low step-in height for easy passenger entry.
And once inside, passengers will benefit from the Crosstrek's supportive front seat design. The Subaru Crosstrek will come with the Subaru Starlink dual 7.0-inch high-resolution touchscreen system as standard, although high trim vehicles in the U.S.A will come with an 11.6-inch high-resolution touchscreen infotainment system equipped with wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto.
All 2024 Crosstrek models in the U.S.A will come with the latest version of the firm's EyeSight Driver Assistance Technology.
