Mercedes-Benz rolls out over-the-air update for MBUX

Mercedes-Benz C-Class and S-Class owners around the world will soon be receiving a significant over-the-air update.
The firm is rolling out a new update to bring its Zero Layer infotainment software in the EQE and EQS into the C-Class and S-Class. The update will affect the MBUX system's interface, making it clearer and equipping it with individual selection tiles that can be intuitively operated, so users will no longer need to scroll through sub-menus.
The new system will also be able to intuitively adapt to its user. With the update, it will now learn driver habits and will suggest personalised infotainment, comfort and vehicle functions at the appropriate moment. So, if you happen to call home every evening, the vehicle will learn this habit and will suggest a telephone call at the right time via a direct selection tile on the top menu.
Vehicle owners will be able to not only reject the suggestion from the MBUX system, but also can permanently delete the suggestion. Cars eligible for the upgrade will receive a notification via the MBUX Infotainment system itself or via their Mercedes me app when the update is available. Download and installation will then take place in the background after the user has agreed to the installation of the update. Customers will also be given the option to switch between the old and new user interfaces.
