Toyota has announced that it has once again been awarded with more patents than any other auto manufacturer by the United States Patent and Trademark Office for 2022.
The firm is celebrating the ninth consecutive year it has won the title, alongside the fact that it has moved up the ranks in overall patents being awarded to a single company, to become the fourth overall.
It states that this ranking reinforces its position as a leader in technology and innovation among the world's best-known brands. Of the 3,056 patents the company was awarded in 2022, nearly half are said to be in the field of future mobility, while 26% are in the area of electrification targeting vehicles, batteries and materials, while 14% were focused on automation and safety.
