Peugeot has given the already smart-looking 508 a new makeover.
The car now has a more angular design, bearing an increased similarity to the Peugeot 408 that was recently launched here in Singapore as well as the Peugoet Inception Concept, with its nearly vertical LED elements at the front, as well as the use of a large black grill, which now dominates the view at the front.
The taillights now get a more horizontal light signature, while the 'Peugeot' name is now spelt out across the black bar at the rear of the car Also new within this grille is the use of Peugeot's latest crest logo, while the head lights of the car now make use of Matrix LED technology.
And at the rear, the iconic three-claw light signature has also been reinterpreted, now more horizontal for a more dynamic look. Where the Peugeot logo once stood is now instead the text 'Peugeot', spelt out in Basalte Grey across the central black strip.
In the cabin, the Peugeot 508 now sports the firm's new crest on the steering wheel. This steering wheel sits below a 12-inch customisable digital instrument cluster, while above the centre console is a 10-inch infotainment screen. The car also now utilises the firm's new rocker-styler gear selector.
The seats of the Peugeot 508 have also been designed - the 'Allure' trim car now gets a TEP plastic/textile upholstery as standard, and 'GT' trim cars will get seats upholstered in TEP/Alcantara.
Two nappa leather trims (Mistral or Red) are also available as an option, with a new embossed lion in the front headrests.
Two petrol-only drivetrains are being made available for the Peugeot 508. These include a 1.2-litre three-cylinder that produces 130bhp, as well as a 1.6-litre four-cylinder that produces 218bhp. Both these engines are paired to an eight-speed automatic gearbox.
Two plug-in hybrid options are also being offered for this new 508. These options combine either a 150bhp or a 180bhp petrol engine with a 109bhp electric motor.
The Peugeot 508 Sport Engineered meanwhile, will utilise a 200bhp engine alongside a 109bhp electric motor at the front axle and a 111bhp electric motor powering the rear wheels.
