The BMW Group has announced that the total users of the 'My BMW' and 'MINI' apps have exceeded ten million.
With the apps, drivers can keep up to date with the status of their vehicles, as well as lock and unlock the doors, activate the climate control/ventilation, or if their vehicles are so equipped, they can also view the surroundings of their vehicle and interior. Users can also send the destination addresses from the app to the vehicle's navigation system.
The apps also give owners of electrified vehicles additional features. These include the option to get real-time information on their charging status and electric range and receive push notifications during charging about reaching the target battery charge as well as about potential irregularities.
And of course, users can also keep track of their vehicle's servicing and maintenance needs. And when a vehicle is due to be serviced, a push notification will allow the user to make an appointment directly in the app.
