Kia has revealed in full the design of the EV9 all-electric SUV.
For those that like the design of the Kia Concept EV9 revealed in 2021, there's good news: The production car is set to sport the strong, slab-sided, and boxy shape of the concept car.
Two 12.3-inch touchscreen displays and a 5.0-inch segment display will deliver easy access to vehicle and cabin settings
Up front, vertical head lights feature, flanking what Kia terms is a new 'Digital Tiger Face', an evolution of the Tiger Nose-inspired grille that sits at the front of most of Kia's current range.
From the flank, the Kia EV9 adopts an indisputable SUV identity thanks to its boxy silhouette. Kia states, however, that despite this body, the EV9 will still deliver exceptional aerodynamic efficiency. This no doubt is aided by the use of flush door handles as well as a tapered roofline.
And at the rear, the Kia EV9 adopts a clean design, with slim taillights that mirror the design of the head lights.
Built atop the firm's Electric Global Modular Platform, features including a long wheelbase, low beltline, and flat cabin floor are all promised for the cabin, which should mean a spacious interior for passengers.
Passengers seated in the second row can swivel their seats 180 degress if they wish to interact with those in the third row
And those seated in the second row of seats will be able to make full use of the available space, as the Kia EV9 will be offered with seats that be swivelled 180 degrees so that occupants can interact with those sitting in the third row. Those in the first and second rows will also be able to recline their seats in relax when the car is charging.
The EV9 will come with a floating panoramic dashboard that extends from the steering wheel to the vehicle's centre. Sitting atop this dashboard are two 12.3-inch touch screens, alongside an additional 5.0-inch segment display, all of which are designed to offer effortless control over the vehicle's functions and keep the use of physical buttons to a minimum.
Kia will reveal the EV9 in full via a digital premiere later in March 2023.
