Bentley has announced that the first of its Blower Continuation Series - known as Car Zero - will be competing in a series of races across the U.K., France and Belgium.
Originally designed as an engineering validation piece, the Bentley Blower Car Zero is now set to honour the history of its ancestor by competing in three tracks including Donington Park, Le Mans, and Spa to prove its performance and durability.
The Bentley Blower Car Zero now holds a Historic Technical Passport, which certifies it as eligible to compete in FIA-sanctioned events for historic vehicles The Blower Car Zero has received minor modifications for the races, which include the installation of a rain light, wing mirrors, towing points, a fire extinguisher, and a battery isolation switch. The car also now holds a Historic Technical Passport, which certifies the car as eligible to compete in FIA-sanctioned events for historic vehicles.
The Bentley Blower Continuation Series were built using data gathered by laser scanning the 1929 4.5-litre supercharged Team Car #2 and one of the icons of the Bentley Heritage Collection, as well as by scanning through various original drawings.
Bentley states that eight of the total 12 examples of the Blower Continuation Series have already been delivered, while the remaining four are still being built.
