The new MINI Countryman is set to get at least two all-electric variants delivering 188bhp and 308bhp respectively, courtesy of a 64.7kWh battery.

MINI has revealed new details of the upcoming new all-electric Countryman.

The range will include the MINI Countryman E, which will deliver a total output of 188bhp. This model will be complemented with the MINI Countryman SE, the brand's first all-electric all-wheel drive vehicle, here pushing out a total of 308bhp.

The new MINI Couuntryman is said to reach a height of 1,613mm tall, an increase of nearly 60mm compared to the outgoing model
The firm has additionally revealed that these two models will get a battery with a 64.7kWh capacity, a significant jump from the 32.6kWh offered in the current MINI Electric. The upcoming cars are said to deliver an estimated range of 450km with this new battery.

This increase in battery capacity also comes with an increase in overall dimensions, so the MINI Countryman is now set to span a total length of 4,429mm, and reach 1,613mm tall. This increase in size promises greater cabin space for occupants.

The design of the new car still remains hidden under camouflage, however, MINI does reveal that we can expect the car to have shed its decorative elements in order to minimise the carbon emissions associated with manufacturing.

Use of cast light-alloy wheels from up to 70% secondary aluminium will also aid this sustainability push, alongside the adoption of recycled polyester obtained from PET bottles and carpet remnants for the surface of the dashboards, steering wheel, vehicle headliner, floor, and floor mats.
