Ford has announced that it has solidified its position as 'America's Automaker', after taking the lead in terms of vehicles assembled, hourly autoworkers employed in the U.S.A, and vehicles exported from America to other countries, according to new 2022 data from S&P Global Mobility.

Ford states that it assembled more than 1.8 million vehicles in the U.S.A in 2022, 130,000 more than the next nearest manufacturer. This figure includes the best-selling F-Series truck franchise, every single one of which is assembled in plants in Michigan, Missouri, Kentucky and Ohio (read more about the all-electric Ford F-150 Lightning here). The Illinois-assembled Explorer SUV and Kentucky-assembled Escape SUV, meanwhile, remain two other popular models.

The firm additionally states that nearly 80% of the vehicles Ford sells in U.S.A are assembled in the country, while in 2022, it also exported 260,000 U.S.A-assembled vehicles to other countries, 65,000 more than the next closest competitor. These include the F-150, Explorer and Mustang.

Ford has additionally committed to adding more than 18,000 new manufacturing jobs in the U.S.A over the next three years to produce electric and combustion-powered vehicles.
