The Lexus UX continues to be offered in the U.S.A solely with a hybrid drivetrain but now gets an optional power back door with kick sensor.

Lexus has announced that it will be updating the UX250h for the 2024 model year in the U.S.A with a new powered back door equipped with a kick sensor.

The crossover continues to be offered solely with a 179bhp hybrid drivetrain in the U.S.A, comprising of a 2.0-litre engine although customers will be able to specify either front-wheel and all-wheel drive configurations.

The rear lamps of the UX are said to have been designed to additionally guide airflow around the rear of the car for greater stability at high speed
This move to hybrid only power was done as part of the 2023 model year update and as part of Lexus' move towards the realisation of a carbon-neutral society.

Elsewhere, the car continues to stay the same.

This includes the use of Lexus' signature spindle grille at the front, as well as full-width lighting at the rear. The flanks of the car also sport wheel arch moldings which protect the body from gravel flying off the wheels and channel airflow to reduce turbulence and lift.

The car also gets aluminium doors, fenders and an aluminium hood, while composite materials are utilised for its tailgate.

The infotainment screen of the car utilises an anti-adhesion coating to ensure a vivid display
Customers in the U.S.A will be able to opt for their Lexus UX with the F Sport and F Sport Handling packages. Both will finish the Lexus UX with F Sport wheels, grille, dark roof rails, a black roof, as well as fog and cornering lamps and painted wheel arch moldings amongst other features.

The F Sport Handling model gets an additional Active Variable Suspension system for sharpened handling and stability as well as improved ride comfort.

The cabin continues to feature eight-way power adjustable front seats. A standard 8.0-inch or optional 12.3-inch touchscreen also continues to feature in the cabin.
