Caterham has announced it will open a brand new manufacturing facility and headquarters later in 2023 as it celebrates its 50th anniversary.
The firm will still be located in Dartford, Kent. However, a new state-of-the-art building will soon be home to Caterham's production, engineering, motorsport and commercial teams.
The new facility is situated in a brand new nine acre industrial park development and is within close proximity to the existing factory, enabling the retention of the skilled workforce who are responsible for hand assembling all cars. It comes courtesy of investment funding from VT Holdings, one of Japan's largest retailer groups, which took acquired Caterham Cars in 2021.
The firm is now targeting to raise production capacity at Caterham by 50%, which will see it manufacturing close to 750 units annually. Caterham additionally plans to offer a range of customer experiences at the site including factory tours, events, and vehicle handovers.
