Hosted at Handlebar at Gillman Barracks, Ducati Singapore officially launched the new Ducati Diavel V4 on 15 June 2023.
The Diavel, with its muscle cruiser aesthetic and iconic exagerated design (and massive rear tyre), is an unapologetically bold model since it was first introduced.
The big change with this Diavel V4 is, of course, the engine. The previous Desmodromic V-twin has now been replaced by the new 1,158cc V4 Granturismo engine also found in the Multistrada V4. In a bid to deliver intense performance combined with smoothness and regularity, the V4 Granturismo pumps out 166bhp and 126Nm of torque.
Besides enhanced performance, one of the key benefits of using the new V4 Granturismo engine is that service intervals have been extended to 15,000km, or every two years. Valve Clearance Check is also now at every 60,000km. This means that overall servicing costs should be reduced notably for owners.
The V4 Granturismo engine on the Diavel is also the first to feature the extended deactivation system for the rear cylinders. This means that at light loads (except in first gear), the engine will shut down the rear bank, which helps to reduce consumption and improve thermal comfort for the rider and passenger.
From a geometry perspective, the handlebar is now 20mm closer, the seat is just 790mm off the ground, and wheel travel is now 15mm more than the previous Diavel 1260. Overall, the bike is also more than 13kg lighter than before.
The new Diavel also sports a host of other improvements. As standard, the Diavel V4 comes with a 5.0-inch TFT colour display, Ducati Multimedia System, backlit handlebar switches, full LED lights, as well as dynamic turn indicators.
The standard Ducati Quick Shift will also allow seamless and rapid gear changes, allowing you to fully exploit the bike's performance. And, with Ducati Power Launch, you can blast off the line, before settling down for a highway cruise using the Cruise Control function.
Four fully configurable riding modes - Sport, Touring, Urban and Wet - will allow the rider to tailor the bike to every riding occasion. And of course, the electronic package, with Traction Control EVO 2 and Wheelie Control EVO, will help you put power down through the massive 240/45 rear tyres.
The Diavel still boasts an umistakable muscle cruiser aesthetic, but redesigned front and rear light clusters, broad shoulders and the prominent four-tip exhaust further accentuates the model's muscular disposition.
