  • Renault reveals F1 inspired special edition Clio and Megane models

Renault shows (off) new Special edition Clio RS Red Bull Racing RB7 and Mégane R.S F1 pays tribute to F1 commitments.

Renault, a two time Formula 1 constructor winning team and current engine supplier to Red Bull racing, have announced a special edition Clio which highlights the brand’s racing history. A deep almost carbon like black exterior and bright yellow accents decorate the car together with a checkered roof decal and Red Bull badging with 18-inch wheels.

On the inside we have Recaro sports seats, a plaque to acknowledge the limited nature of your model and a monitor to display performance related data.

A 200hp, 2.0-liter, four cylinder engine with 215Nm of torque accelerates the hatchback from 0 to 100km/h in a brisk 6.9 seconds before maxing out at 225km/h.

Unfortunately hopes of getting this French beauty are extremely slim as word is, only five European countries are expected to have receive the Renault Clio RS Red Bull Racing RB7 with a starting price of €27,900 (approx S$46,000).

Unveiled along with the Clio were four Mégane models decked out in F1 team livery that are powered by Renault engines in 2012.

Besides Red Bull racing, the "Powered by Renault" teams are Lotus , Caterham and Williams F1 teams. These four models will be on display at various events and sports demonstrations to be attended by Renault this year.
