Citroen has unveiled two new models for emerging markets. They both offer attractive styling, economical engines and technology loaded amenities.

The compact saloon market is the biggest automotive segment in the world, representing almost one third of all worldwide passenger car sales. As such, two new models for emerging markets like China and Russia have been launched with both models representing Citroen's signature features.

The first production is Citroen from its Shanghai style centre, the Citroen C4 L, is positioned at the top of the C segment. Similar to the Citroen C4, the car offers all of the brand's characteristic qualities including a range-topping finish, an exceptionally relaxing ride and standard-setting on-board comfort.

The lounge-like rear compartment results from the model's long wheelbase, with wraparound seats, backrests with a 29 degree incline and comfortable headrests. In-car technologies include hands-free access and start, touch-screen GPS, reverse camera, fully heated windscreen and air ioniser.

The C4 L is fitted with one of three latest generation petrol engines that were developed in partnership with BMW. All three engines can be mated to a new automatic and sequential 6-speed gearbox. The C4 L will be manufactured in Wuhan for China by the end of 2012 and Kaluga, Russia in the first half of 2013.

Also in the pipeline is the new Citroen C-Elysee. The new Citroen C-Elysee was developed to meet the expectations of the most demanding drivers and passengers with a roomy interior that is ideal for families. The boot comes in at 506 litres thanks to a 2.65m wheelbase, the longest in its category. Amenities like air conditioning with digital readout, a MP3 audio system with Bluetooth are also available.

The Citroen C-Elysee will also be available with the latest VTi 72 petrol engine, combining rewarding performance with economical fuel consumption and durability. The car's suspension clearance and protective guards, were tested all over the world under a range of conditions to provide reliability on the most demanding roads.

The Citroen C-Elysee will be manufactured in Spain and will be launched in Turkey, Spain, Central Europe and Algeria at the end of 2012.
