After numerous eons, Mercedes has finally revealed the 2014 SLS AMG Black Series (SLS AMG BS) that will go on sale in June 2013. Using the standard formula as other Black Series models, the SLS AMG BS has more power in a trimmed and more aerodynamic package. The same 6.2-litre V8 revs up to 8,000rpm to produce 622 horses. Despite the lesser torque figure at 634Nm, the 1,550kg German 'gullwing' can hit 100km/h in a brisk 3.6 seconds before reaching 315km/h. For those interested, the supercar returns 13.7L/100km while emitting 321g/km.
The SLS AMG BS is 20mm wider on the front and 24mm wider at the rear tracks. It wears 20-inch lightweight forged alloy wheels with standard carbon ceramic brakes.
Moreover, a new air intake, camshafts, improved oil and water cooling and additional pressure tweaks we made to the car. Exotic carbon fibre is used for the front splitter, side skirts and large rear diffuser where you will also find quadruple exhausts.
An optional carbon fibre aero pack consisting of an adjustable rear wing and front dive planes create more downforce and improves high speed stability.
In the driver's cockpit, there is a carbon fibre centre console and light sports seats facing the Alcantara clad steering wheel.
