Honda presents all new Fit-based 'Urban SUV Concept' at the ongoing North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) - eventually to be CR-V's younger sibling.

Honda has presented its 'Urban SUV Concept' (aka Honda's take on the Q3) in Detroit. The overall styling is more suitable for Acura - not that we are complaining though. The bold and youth centric concept hints at the production model for an all new small SUV to be launched in Japan by the end of the year.

The Urban SUV Concept is apt for people with an active lifestyle for the SUV provides a fun-to-drive experience within a fuel efficient environment - bundled with exciting design, and next generation connectivity.

The Urban Concept SUV measures 4,300mm long and is 228mm shorter than its CR-V sibling - ideal for urban and city driving. Honda mentions the Urban Concept SUV to be available in the US early 2014 and will be manufactured along the Fit at Honda's latest plant in Mexico when operations begin in spring, 2014.

"No one has had greater success with small cars than Honda, and this Urban SUV Concept will create new value in the growing small SUV segment. With the continued expansion of our North American manufacturing operations, we expect fuel efficient and fun-to-drive 'small' cars to play a key role in meeting the needs of our customers in the U.S.," said John Mendel, Executive Vice President of Sales at American Honda.
