A sinkhole that appeared recently in the centre lane of Clementi Road has collapsed again.
The Land Transport Authority (LTA) repaired the hole on Monday but the tar covering the hole appeared to have collapsed again this afternoon. There were chunks of concrete and sand at the bottom of the hole which appeared to be around 1m deep.
There were no reports of any injuries or accidents caused by this incident and a team of contractors and workers were at the scene investigating.
In a statement regarding this incident, the LTA said that they are investigating the root cause of the hole and have been closely monitoring the condition of the road. As an immediate measure, they will be conducting scans below the affected portion of the road for any possible cavities.
