The A-Class based CLA graced our multimedia screens earlier this year, and instantly we knew an AMG tuned 'style rebel' was on its way.

Evidently a smaller CLS, the CLA 45 AMG brings an added dose of testosterone and performance upgrades over its stock sibling. From the leaked promo shots that have spilled onto the internet, we can infer a distinct aero package featuring a front spoiler and rear diffuser, larger alloy wheels and sports induced interior with carbon fibre trimmings.

It will utilise a similar powertrain as the A 45 AMG - a force induced 2.0-litre with 360bhp and 450Nm of torque on tap, linked to a seven-speed dual clutch transmission and all-wheel drive. The CLA 45 AMG will be formally introduced at the New York Auto Show, with sales likely to start at the end of the year.
