Earlier this month the Mk7 Golf won the European Car of The Year title by a huge margin over each model of the Toyobaru twins, and recently at the New York International Auto Show, the Golf has earned the prestigious World Car of the Year title.
The jury for the 'World Car of the Year' award consists of 66 motoring journalists from 23 countries. Volkswagen has for a long time been a firm fixture in the 'World Car of the Year' awards.
Since 2005, Volkswagen has won the World Car of the Year title four times - once for the Polo in 2010, once for the up! last year and twice for the Golf hatchback - back in 2009 and now in 2013.
Over the coming months, further models will be added to the Golf range. The Golf GTI and Golf GTD will be launched in spring. From the middle of April, customers will also be able to order the new, dynamic and spacious Golf Estate. Following this in the second half of the year comes the new Golf TDI BlueMotion, which sets new standards in terms of fuel consumption and environmental compatibility.
