The BMW 5 Series mid-size executive range has always contained the signature ingredients of a best selling BMW model. Continuing the success story is the 2014 model year - the refreshed 5 Series range - with precise modifications to the design, the addition of a new Advanced Diesel engine for U.S. bound sedan and the availability of more equipment.

Xenon Adaptive headlights are fitted as standard, while Adaptive LED Headlights are available under optional extras while side indicator lights are integrated into the wing mirrors. New Luxury and Modern trim lines are now available on top of the usual M Sport choice.
The changes are present in the cabin as well, with the Central Display now bordered by a striking chrome trim (in sedan body style only).
The famed iDrive Navigation system - now running version 4.2 - makes use of an optimised menu display and allows access to Advanced Real Time Traffic Information. A new iDrive rotary controller with an integrated touchpad allows the input of characters for destinations, phone numbers, and other functions.
The storage compartments and cup holders in the centre console also boast increased capacity while the revised rear section increases the cargo load area of the GT model. New exterior paint colours, light-alloy wheels, upholstery colours and interior trim elements for all BMW 5 Series models enhance their appeal and increase the scope for individualisation.
North America will receive a new BMW 535d diesel variant - comprising a new inline-six BMW Advanced Diesel engine with BMW TwinPower Turbo technology that makes 255bhp and 559Nm of torque. The range topping powertrain now features an updated bi-turbocharged V8 developing 445bhp and 650Nm of torque.

Fresh contour lines surrounds the iconic kidney grille while the redesigned lower air intakes reinforce the sporty appearance of the facelifted 5 Series sedan. The accentuated width of the rear end is underlined by an extra crease in the apron, as well as slim, sharply contoured and therefore more striking rear lights.
