  • Thinkware F750 - A trusty companion on the road

Thinkware is accelerating the push with its new F750, an intelligent in-car camera with Wi-Fi, GPS and integrated safety warning systems.

The in-car camera market is booming - there has been a significant increase in the interest amongst motorists towards installing these devices in their cars.

Thanks to its outstanding design and cutting-edge engineering, the F750 is a 2015 honouree of the CES Innovation Awards
Understanding the in-car camera as a security camera instead of a camcorder is vital for knowing which models are best. Those that are worth purchasing have a few key features that make them easy to use every day. Here, we take a closer look at one of these cameras.

    Thinkware F750

We have all been there - daydreaming, dozing off, or simply not noticing what is happening to us or the cars around us. What if there is an aid to prompt drivers like those in top-end luxury cars?

That is exactly what Thinkware's latest in-car camera can do. The intelligent F750 includes a bevy of new road safety warning systems, such as a forward collision alert function and a lane departure warning system. Smart image processing allows the camera's computer to detect an imminent collision and sound an alert. At the same time, it also tracks lane lines and will issue an audible alert when the car veers out of lane. By keeping the driver alert and aware, the camera lowers the chance that these lapses in attention will lead to a collision.

More interestingly, the built-in GPS function actively monitors the vehicle's location to inform the driver, via voice guidance, of approaching traffic enforcement devices such as red light and speed cameras along the way.

The F750 is also Wi-Fi-enabled so drivers can easily control, manage and configure the settings of the camera with a smartphone. In addition, the Thinkware mobile app for Android and iOS provides a convenient way to view, download and access or delete recorded videos on the phone.

Featuring a 2.19-megapixel Sony Exmor CMOS sensor, ultra high-quality video in the day or night is produced. The camera also comes with dual-channel recording with full High Definition (HD) capabilities both in front and at the back at 1,920 x 1,080 pixels.

Memory card failure is one of the most common problems but there is no need to worry as Thinkware cameras are built to withstand high-operating temperatures of up to 80-degrees Celsius. The camera's built-in thermal sensor also enables it to protect itself and the data recorded against intense heat by automatically turning off in extreme conditions to prevent overheating.

An optional full HD rear view camera is also available to watch your back
At the same time, Thinkware's Dual Save Technology guarantees a backup copy of the video in the internal memory in the aftermath of a severe collision or memory card failure. Even if there is any power loss during an accident, the F750's fail-safe recording uses the Super Capacitor to ensure that any recordings in progress are stored securely, so drivers can be sure that the data is safe.

Besides this award-winning camera, those looking for a more affordable option can also consider the H50, which features high-quality video, format-free technology, and parking surveillance as well as high-temperature resistance.
