Caltex's best petrol has gotten even better with the addition of Techron's new Clean & Glide Technology - now in service stations islandwide.

The benefits of Caltex with Techron® have long been known and making changes to a proven formula was not undertaken lightly. Chevron, which markets the Caltex brand, conducted stringent laboratory tests and accumulated up to 600,000km of real world fleet tests to ensure the final formula provides optimum results for the everyday motorist.

The new Clean & Glide Technology™ is specially formulated to clean and protect your engine

How is the new and improved Caltex with Techron® different from its previous formulation?

The new Clean & Glide Technology™ is specially formulated to clean and protect your engine - giving the same proven cleaning performance that you've come to expect from Techron® but now with friction modifiers that are designed to protect metal components and improve efficiency by reducing friction. Continued use of Caltex with Techron® also boosts the benefits of their five-star fuel with maximised power and improved fuel economy over time.

The ability of new Techron with Clean & Glide Technology™ to protect metal surfaces was proven in the High Frequency Reciprocating Rig (HFRR) lubricity test. The HFRR lubricity test is a standard test for diesel that is designed to determine the ability to protect metal parts in fuel pumps that rely on diesel as a lubricant. The HFRR lubricity test was modified to safely test the lubricating properties of petrol.

Results proved that their new five-star fuel formulation was able to reduce friction and thus wear and tear between key engine components by an average of 41 percent and 38 percent respectively compared to the previous formulation. The average results were derived using fuel samples gathered from around Asia Pacific and South Africa.

How is the new and improved Caltex with Techron® different from what is already available in the market?

Caltex focuses on offering a holistic and hassle-free experience that gets people back on their respective journeys quickly, so they have more time to do what matters most to them.

They developed the new five-star fuel to help eliminate the need to compromise between the various fuel benefits. A quick Caltex stop now efficiently delivers petrol grades that cater to even the most discerning motorist or vehicle needs.

The addition of Clean & Glide Technology™ is another relevant innovation from Caltex, joining the ranks of Techron® D for diesel engines and Techron® Concentrate Plus, a concentrated fuel additive that provides a deep clean for petrol vehicles in just one tankful.

The new Clean & Glide Technology™ is specially formulated to clean and protect your engine

If the petrol is a new formulation, why is it still called Caltex with Techron® ?

Since its introduction, motorists have come to recognise Caltex with Techron® as a trusted fuel. Most motorists know that Caltex with Techron® helps clean up dirt in engines to improve an engine's performance. That's why it is named a five-star fuel.

Caltex with Techron® also resonates strongly with drivers who care for their vehicles; delivering value and performance that exceeds expectations. It goes back to their pioneering commitment to clean, and stay true to the evolving nature of their Techron® offering that is continuously being improved in anticipation of future engine technology and local market needs.

The addition of the new Clean & Glide Technology™ and resulting enhanced benefits invites the 'new and improved' distinction.

Continued use of Caltex with Techron® will also help contribute towards the car performing at its best

Do customers still need to use Techron® Concentrate Plus?

Customers who continually use Caltex with Techron® do not need to use Techron® Concentrate Plus (TCP). However, if a customer purchased a second-hand vehicle with uncertain fuel history, a bottle of TCP can help clean up harmful fuel system deposits built over time. Continued use of Caltex with Techron® will also help contribute towards the car performing at its best.

    Where to get it?

The new and improved formulation is available across all petrol grades in Caltex service stations. For more information on Caltex and its products, please visit here or approach any of its friendly staff at any of its stations.
