The 343bhp BAC Mono R has beaten the lap record previously held by the Ferrari LaFerrai at the Red Bull Ring in Austria.
The BAC Mono has set the fastest ever production car lap time of 2:14.617 at the Sepang International Circuit, Malaysia.
Though a wide range of race cars will also take to the Pageant circuit for timed runs, it is the track day specials that are deemed likely to break the record.
