The premium small car manufacturer - MINI - can call 2012 as an eventful year with new sales records, successful model launches and expansion into new markets.

2012 turned out to be MINI's most successful year to date with an extended vehicle lineup backed by global market expansion and record breaking worldwide sales.

MINI kicked off the year by attending an auto expo in New Delhi, India for the very first time. The motor show presence coincided with the opening of MINI's first showrooms in its 100th market - India. MINI's global presence was expanded by venturing into the Kingdom of Jordan further riveting its presence in the Middle East.

MINI hosted the MINI United 2012 back in May at the former F1 circuit in Le Castellet, France. With Some 30,000 delighted MINI enthusiasts attending the three day event that featured top international music acts, motor racing action and a throbbing party atmosphere - all themed around the MINI.

A slew of machines also made its debut last year starting with the MINI Roadster expanding the brand's line-up to six models. That was followed by the MINI John Cooper Works Countryman at the Geneva Motor Show - the first JCW model with standard all-wheel drive featuring a turbocharged engine possessing 218bhp.

The MINI Clubvan - a compact delivery van that combines the practicality of a delivery van with the driving fun of a MINI featured two seats but a vast 860 litres of cargo space while MINI's seventh model, a Sports Activity Coupe, made its world debut at the Paris Motor Show with the MINI Paceman. The cream of the crop from MINI though was the 2,000 units limited MINI John Cooper Works GP engineered just for racing enthusiasts. The speed demon was fine tuned on the legendary Nordschleife circuit, Germany, where it recorded a best time of 8 minutes and 23 seconds.

To top it off, MINI set a new personal best vehicle sales record with a record-breaking 301,526. That translates to a 5.9 percent increase in sales in comparison to the same period in 2011. Sales were once again strongest in the U.S.A, followed by U.K., and Germany.
