Alpine confirms development of new platform for future units
13 Mar 2026|28 views
French sports premium brand Alpine Cars has confirmed the development of its new Alpine Performance Platform (APP) that will underpin different body styles that will be launched in the coming years: Coupe, spider and 2+2.
The future generation of the Alpine A110, including the APP, will be developed and manufactured at the Manufacture Alpine Dieppe Jean Redele plant, ensuring full continuity with the brand's heritage and industrial DNA.
To ensure agility on the APP, an advanced aluminium architecture is being developed, offering lightness and modularity that translates into dynamic responsiveness and efficiency. The whole architecture is stiff, featuring innovative bonded and riveted technology to support structural integrity and lightweight design.
To respect the 40/60% front and rear balance of a sports car, two battery packs will be added to the architecture. To further reduce the weight and its charging time, the 800V cell-to-pack batteries will be included in the APP with high energy density cells. A new rear dual e-motor three-in-one e-axle is being developed, delivering exceptional torque and performance with ultrafast control, thanks to its SIC inverter.
To enhance the driving experience of the next generation of Alpine EV sports cars, the brand has developed Alpine Active Torque Vectoring, which delivers different torque on the right and left wheels every 10ms for the very best dynamic performance.
