Audi has started making the new Audi Q7 in India, according to reports, and is set to build 1000 units of the Q7 annually.

Reports have floated in, saying that Audi has kick started the production of the Q7 in the company's Aurangabad factory, India.

Audi plans to produce 1000 units of the Q7 annually. The full size SUV is being manufactured at a newly built 215,288 square feet (20,000 square metres) facility at VW Group's Skoda Auto India Private Limited. Incidentally, they will produce the Q3 there, too, beginning of mid 2013.

Audi has seen its sales in India grow by approximately 55 percent and hence the justification to build the new Q7, where they can supply to the local market.

With this addition to the lineup, Audi is now selling the following models in India: A4, A6, A7 Sportback, A8 L, Q3, Q5, Q7, S4, RS5 Coupe, TT Coupe, R8 and R8 Spyder.
