Car tyres will not look the same anymore. Bridgestone has come out with a new technology for colour printings on the sidewalls of car tyres.

Conventional methods of imprinting patterns or words onto tyres involve the use of large amount of white rubber to prevent any colour runoff and maintain rigidity, which increases the weight of the tyre itself. The new technology, however, consists of inks that are developed specially for the application, applied in different layers for better protection against damage.

The company does not rule out the possibilities of having customisable designs on the tyre walls, and currently researching on non-permanent ways of paint application, so that any design that is put up can be later removed.
