Not wanting to be outdone by Renault at the IAA Transportation exhibition, BYD has also revealed its new E-VALI, designed to meet the needs of last-mile and parcel delivery services in Europe.
The new light commercial vehicle is certainly futuristic looking, with a flowing silhouette and a flank dominated by undecorated panels, said to evoke power and strength. Its front, meanwhile, gets distinctive head lights, said to exude purpose.
But its not all about looks, of course. The BYD E-VALI is said to be able to offer a maximum of 17,900 litres of cargo capacity (this will change depending on your chosen variant) alongside a maximum payload of 1,450kg.
One sliding door here is offered for loading and unloading, alongside wide opening hinged rear doors. Space at the rear, meanwhile, is said to be sufficient for a driver to stand upright, and the cargo area also gets a bulkhead to divide it from the passenger cabin, for enhanced safety and comfort.
In the cabin, the BYD E-VALI gets a clean and minimalistic cabin, complete with an infotainment system that comes complete with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as well as capable of receiving over-the-air updates. The vehicle will be accompanied by a BYD App which allows users to monitor the vehicle's status.
This cabin also houses a foldable table concealed within its centre console, an in-car refrigerator/cool box, cup holders, and an abundance of useful storage boxes and pockets, as well as various USB ports for wireless charging.
Powering the BYD E-VALI is a colbat-free 80.64 Blade Battery that uses Lithium Iron-Phosphate as its cathode material, which is claimed to offer better inherent thermal stability. This battery gives the vehicle a WLTP range of up to 250km and can be charged up at up to 188kW via a direct current charging station.
